Mission & Objectives
To promote the growth and development of the game of golf at all levels, from junior participation to professional tournaments;
To secure and maintain affiliation with other bodies, both domestic and international, having a common interest in promoting and developing the game of golf;
To provide a training and education and professional development framework to ensure well qualified and accredited professionals are available to grow and develop golf in Malaysia;
To be the premier golf body in Malaysia and accordingly control the strategic direction of professional golf in Malaysia;
To protect and advance the interest of professional golfers, to allow them to contribute to the promotion and development of golf in Malaysia, by doing all such thing as may be necessary to:
Promote and/or conduct professional golf tours and tournaments forming part of professional golf tours to promote the elite level of the sport, and
Provide vocational and business opportunities in golf teaching, golf merchandising, golf operations and golf management to contribute to the development of the sport;
To be the Malaysian member and extended member of the International Federation of PGA Tours and any other international or regional federation of Professional Golf Associations or similar;
To control professional golf throughout Malaysia, to protect and enforce the Rules of Golf and otherwise uphold the image of golf;
To make, adopt, vary and publish rules, regulations, bye-laws and conditions for:
Regulating professional golf;
Regulating the administration of professional golf; and
doing everything necessary or desirable to enforce those rules, regulations, by laws and conditions;
To establish and/or conduct golf schools or golf coaching facilities for tuition in all fields of the game either separate or in conjunction with any other organisation and for that purpose to engage and employ teachers, coaches and consultants and to acquire property and equipment and to provide such facilities as the Association may consider necessary for lectures, exhibitions and coaching classes;
To adopt such means of making known and promoting the Objectives and of activities of the Association and its members and procuring contributions to its funds as may seen expedient to do in particular:
Advertising in the press, on television and radio by circular;
Controlling the rights to photograph or make films or other visual reproductions, or to other new media rights, of the tournaments or events controlled by the Association;
Publishing books, programs, brochures and periodicals; and
Granting prizes, rewards and making donations;
To conduct players’ school(s), traineeship programs, and such other qualifying programs as the Association deems necessary and appropriate from time to time in order for non-Members to become eligible for membership of the Association; and to provide Members and non-Members with the opportunity to compete in tournaments conducted by the Association;
To subscribe or contribute to any patriotic or charitable benevolent objects; and
To otherwise do all acts and things necessary or appropriate for the management , control regulation and promotion of the Association to ensure the growth and development of golf.
