It was a wet start at the 2nd leg of the PGAM Satellite Tour yesterday at Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam. However, that did not dampen the spirits of Edvin Ying and Afif Fathi who came back with excellent identical scores of 68 to force a playoff.
This is the 2nd win on the Satellite Tour for Edvin. The 22 year old lass hails from Mahkota Golf Club, Kuantan.
Edvin came out victorious at the 2nd play-off hole. Afif Fathi missed his 3 foot putt to hand the title to Edvin.
Edvin who was ranked #5 on last year's Satellite Tour Order of Merit says that the Satellite Tour is one of the best platform for pros and amateurs to prepare for bigger events.
One shot(69) behind the leaders on tied 3rd placing are Johnny Shin and Paul San.
Bryan Tan took the amateur title with a score or 73. Runner-up is Amirul Bin Senu on 75. Third placing was a 4-way tie on 76 among Alfred Johnny, Cheah Chee Teong, Danny Millis and Dhakshn Manirajan.
Next leg of the Satellite Tour will be on 8th May 2024 at Seri Selangor Golf Club.
